No more "Q"! Sony renames device to PlayStation Portal and reveals new details
In May, during the PlayStation Showcase, Sony officially unveiled the PlayStation Q, a cloud-based gaming device designed to run games from the PlayStation 5 via Remote Play. During Gamescom 2023, Sony shared new details about the device.
Here's What We Know
The first is, of course, the new name - PlayStation Portal. Sony assures that the device will provide amazing haptic feedback and audio triggers, providing an unrivalled level of interaction with games. With an 8-inch LCD screen capable of streaming games in 1080p resolution and 60 FPS, PlayStation Portal will "bring players an immersive gaming experience on the go".
It should be noted that cloud games from the PlayStation Plus Premium library will not be supported on PlayStation Portal, but the developers promise that players will still have access to a wide range of games. Sony promises to reveal more details when pre-orders start.
As for prices, Sony has revealed that PlayStation Portal will be available for 199.99 USD / 219.99 EUR / 199.99 GBP / 29,980 YEN. The device is scheduled to launch this year, although the specific date remains unknown,
