Sony has launched the Pictures Core app on PlayStation 4/5, giving access to a library of films that will be expanded in the future
Sony has introduced the Pictures Core app for PlayStation 4/5, which gives gamers access to the Sony Pictures movie library.
Here's What We Know
The company promises a library of 2000 films that can be rented or purchased. At the moment, the selection is more modest and mostly blockbusters are available, such as the Miles Morales cartoon series or the Uncharted film adaptation. Sony Pictures Core will also have some films as "early access exclusives". And if you have a PlayStation Plus Deluxe subscription, you'll get access to a catalogue of 100 films.
But the app should not only include Sony projects. For example, the company plans to cooperate with Crunchyroll in the future and add popular anime.
If you have a Bravia or Xperia TV, you should be familiar with the Bravia Core app. Well, Sony Pictures Core is its alternative, which will also appear on the above-mentioned TVs in 2024.
Currently, Sony Pictures Core is not available in all countries, so to check if the app is available in your country, you need to open the media section on your console.
