Multiplayer The Last of Us is still in development, says director
It's been a busy few weeks for Naughty Dog. In May, it was revealed that their ambitious multiplayer game based on The Last of Us, which was touted as the studio's biggest project ever, had lost most of its developers after an internal review. Last month, the studio also faced layoffs, with at least 25 people resigning. Against the backdrop of this news, many TLoU fans began to wonder about the fate of the multiplayer project.
Here's What We Know
Despite all the difficulties, the game has not been cancelled - project manager Vinit Agarwal said on his Twitter account that development is continuing:
I did it! Wow that was hard, easily 300+ Mario's dead in the process.

And so this tweet can live on in peace... yes, I'm still working on that game. pic.twitter.com/a5Avx9Xl8H
Although there were rumours last month that the project had been "frozen", it was not cancelled completely.
