The US has deployed two batteries of short-range Iron Dome mobile air defence systems to the Pacific Ocean
The US does not disclose the exact location of its Iron Dome air defence systems. However, we now know in which region they are located.
Here's What We Know
The Iron Dome mobile short-range air defence system is deployed in the Pacific Ocean under the Multi-Domain Task Forces (MDTF) concept. This was announced by US Army General James Rainey.
The US has two fully operational Iron Dome batteries with Tamir missile interceptors. This statement was made by Doug Bush, the US Army's Chief of Acquisition, at the AUSA 2023 Annual Conference.
As for the MDTF, it is a further development of the concept of integrating all branches of the US military. They must be manoeuvrable and capable of employing precision weapons to respond to enemy action.
The first group was deployed to Washington in 2018, i.e. the Indo-Pacific Command area of responsibility. It was also the first to receive the LRHW (Long-Range Hypersonic Weapon) hypersonic weapon, which is now awaiting adoption.
