Orion spacecraft made first video of the moon - on November 21 it will fly 96 km from the surface of the Earth's satellite
In a few hours the Orion spacecraft will fly less than 100 km from the Moon. Meanwhile, the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) has published a video, which recorded the spacecraft.
Here's What We Know
Orion is equipped with 16 cameras. A few days ago, with their help, the spacecraft photographed the Earth from a distance of over 90 000 km. Now in the lens got the moon.
The video shows a half-lit natural satellite of our planet. The video was shot on the third day of the mission Artemis I, which was launched on November 16. For recording used one of the external cameras, and the foreground closed itself spacecraft.
Orion will come as close as possible to the moon on November 21 at about 2:30 p.m. It will pass 96 kilometers from its surface and by Nov. 25 will enter a long orbit, where it will remain for several days, and then take a course for Earth and on Nov. 11 will splash down in the Pacific Ocean.
