General Motors has demanded that several thousand of its suppliers completely stop supplying components from China.

After the high-profile collapse of the robotaxi project, General Motors has returned Cruise cars to the roads. However, now the Chevrolet Bolt with autopilot no longer pick up passengers - they participate in internal testing of technologies that will appear on the automobile concern's serial models in the future.

General Motors is investing $888 million in the Tonawanda Powertrain plant in Buffalo, N.Y., to increase engine production and create a next-generation V8 engine.

Cruise, which develops unmanned vehicles and is owned by General Motors, is laying off 900 employees, or 24 per cent of its workforce.
