Sonos has been forced to postpone the launch of two new products scheduled for the fourth quarter due to an unsuccessful app redesign. The company's CEO, Patrick Spence, noted that the priority now is to fix the problems with the app that customers and partners have encountered.
According to Keith Nieves, manager of Sonos, the manufacturer has fixed a bug in the new version of the software that was affecting the autonomy of the iPhone and iPad. The application was not working correctly in background mode, thus consuming more power from the device.
Sonos has faced a barrage of criticism since the launch of its new app in May. Users complained about numerous glitches and the lack of familiar features. In response to customer dissatisfaction, Sonos CEO Patrick Spence published an open letter apologising for the problems and detailing a plan to resolve them.
Sonos has announced the Move 2 for late 2023. The speaker has two angled tweeters and boasts stereo sound. The device has IP56 protection as well as Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.0 and a USB-C port. The gadget supports Amazon Alexa and Sonos Voice Control. On a single charge, the Move 2 will last up to 24 hours.
