The British edition of The Times has read the document of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, which describes the features of the secret Russian drone "Kartograf" class "Ptero".

Here's What We Know

During the study of the drone, experts found foreign components. In particular, the drone is equipped with an engine made in Germany, the spark plug was bought in Japan, and the microprocessor for the cameras was imported by the Russians from China.

The Times notes that the drone can conduct surveillance from a height of 5 kilometers, which is beyond the reach of portable anti-aircraft missile systems. Therefore, Ukrainian servicemen are forced to wait for the drone to descend in order to shoot it down. Despite this, the Ukrainian Armed Forces have already been able to shoot down at least eight such drones. The last "Cartograph" was destroyed a few weeks ago in the Mykholaiv region.

One of the features of this unmanned aerial vehicle is a system of 12 cameras with 80 MP resolution for panoramic photography and video recording. And externally "Cartograph" resembles the drone "Orlan-10".
