Ukrainian reconnaissance drone OKO-9 has made its first flight - the UAV will be able to fly up to 100 km and reach a speed of 100 km/h
The Ukrainian design bureau CyberAvia has made the first flight of an unmanned aerial vehicle. The drone was named OKO-9.
Here's What We Know
The new drone is characterised by a fully Ukrainian airframe. OKO-9 is equipped with an electric motor, and can also take off and land vertically. In this regard, the UAV does not need a prepared infrastructure.
The OKO-9 is designed to carry specialised radio equipment or to be used as an aerial surveillance platform. During the test flight, which took place in the summer of 2023, the take-off weight was 70kg.
The final version of the drone is expected to have a communication range of 100 kilometres and will be able to stay in the air for more than 150 minutes. In addition, the OKO-9 will be able to operate in areas without GPS.
