Ice Universe: iPhone 15 Pro Max gets almost 1-inch Sony sensor
Even though Apple's traditional annual fall presentation is still a long way off, insiders continue to share information about the upcoming iPhone 15 line of smartphones. This time the source is a well-known insider Ice Universe, who has extracted interesting details about the top-of-the-line iPhone 15 Pro Max model.
Here's What We Know
Apple hasn't upgraded the camera resolution for years, only switching to 48-megapixel sensors in the iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max in 2022. So don't expect more megapixels this year - the iPhone 15 Pro Max will also have a 48 MP camera.
That said, there will still be changes: according to the leak, Apple is using a more advanced Sony IMX903 sensor. It's closer in size to the 1-inch sensor - 1/1.14in compared to the 1/1.28in of the iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max. That is, the Sony IMX903 is larger in size, as evidenced by the iPhone 15 Pro Max renders - the camera on them protrudes more above the body than its predecessors.

What's the difference? The larger sensor has inherent advantages, as even in low-light conditions, the larger camera lets in more light, capturing more detail.
Also, the rumoured Sony IMX903 could be more expensive than the inch-long Sony IMX989 sensor.
