Ukrainian military showed howitzer AHS Krab in action (video)
A few days ago, Poland handed over AHS Krab self-propelled artillery units to Ukraine. The military is already using them at the battlefield to destroy Russian invaders.
What we know
The AHS Krab is a 155-mm tracked howitzer with turret layout. The fighting compartment is located in the central part of the body. The artillery unit can reach speeds of up to 60 km/h on the highway and 30 km/h on unpaved roads. Cruising range is 400 km.
The Ukrainian military published a photo and a short video of the use of an artillery unit in the Donetsk region. The self-propelled gun is equipped with a 155-mm cannon with a 52-caliber barrel and can fire up to six rounds per minute. In addition to the main gun, the AHS Krab has a large-caliber 12.7 mm anti-aircraft machine gun and smoke grenade launchers. 29 shells are stored in the turret, and 11 more are in the artillery unit, i.e. ammunition includes 40 shells.
