Canada will send 39 LAV II ACSV light armored vehicles to Ukraine
Ukraine will soon receive several dozen armored vehicles LAV II ACSV.
What we know
This was announced by Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau. He said that 39 armoured combat support vehicles will be sent to Ukraine, as well as spare parts for them and six cameras for unmanned aerial vehicles.
The announcement was made at the conclusion of the NATO summit in Madrid, which took place June 28-30. Ukraine will receive LAV II ACSV this summer, but Trudeau did not disclose any further information about the shipment of the armored vehicles.
Recall that LAV II ACSV is the second generation of light armored personnel carriers. They have a range of 650 km and can reach speeds of up to 100 km/h. Armament includes a 7.62 mm machine gun. The transfer of the armoured vehicles will exhaust CA$500 million ($387 million) allocated by the Canadian government for assistance to Ukraine.
