Poland starts tests of new Borsuk BMP with Bushmaster MK 44/S gun, UKM-2000C machine gun and Spike-LR guided missiles
on July 4, 2022, qualification tests of the new infantry fighting vehicle Borsuk started in Poland.

If the BMP performs at its best during the state tests, the Polish government will be able to begin negotiations on the launch of serial production of the combat vehicle. It will also make it possible to engage in contracts to supply BMPs Borsuk to the Polish Armed Forces.
The new vehicle will replace the Soviet BMP-1. Borsuk has the combat module ZSSW-30 as the main armament and a typical layout for modern BMPs. The engine compartment and control compartment are in the front, with the combat compartment behind them. The crew of the BMP Borsuk consists of three soldiers. They can be accompanied by ten more soldiers.
ZSSW-30 has a 30-mm gun Bushmaster MK 44/S. The ammunition is 200 rounds. In addition, the combat module is equipped with a machine gun UKM-2000C caliber 7.62 mm with a combat kit of 400 rounds and a double launcher of anti-tank guided missiles Spike-LR.
The BMP Borsuk is equipped with an engine MTU 8V-199-TE20 with 720 horsepower and can reach a speed of 65 km/h on the highway. The speed of movement in water is 8 km/h. The infantry fighting vehicle weighs at least 28 tons.
