Russians shot down their own supersonic Su-34 fighter jet worth $36,000,000 in the skies over Ukraine

On July 17, the National Guard of Ukraine reported that one of its soldiers shot down the sixth Russian Su-25 aircraft with the help an Igla man-portable air defense missile system. But the Russians are also helping our fighters to eliminate their own equipment.

What we know

In the skies above Alchevsk (temporarily occupied territory of Luhansk region) the Russian military shot down a Su-34 fighter jet. But it turned out to be a Russian Air Force aircraft.

The Su-34 is a supersonic fighter-bomber, which is used to destroy enemy forces at a distance of up to 600 km from the front line. It can reach a speed of 2,200 km/h. The cost of the aircraft is about $36,000,000.
