U.S. senators ask the Pentagon to give Ukraine fighter jets, C-RAM air defense systems and Avenger SAMs
Six US senators have asked the Pentagon to accelerate the transfer of critical military assistance to Ukraine.
What we know
U.S. senators have asked the U.S. Department of Defense to include fourth-generation fighter jets in the new military aid package, as well as the cost of training pilots of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
In late June, representatives of the U.S. Senate met with representatives of the Ukrainian Air Force, including fighter pilots and anti-aircraft officers. During the talks, U.S. senators received accurate information about what Ukraine needs to protect itself from air threats.
The parliamentarians propose to increase the rate of supplies of multiple launch rocket systems HIMARS, unmanned aerial vehicles and armored personnel carriers. The senators also ask to includ self-propelled short-range surface-to-air missile systems Avenger and air defense systems C-RAMbe in the following military aid packages.
