The U.S. promises to speed up deliveries of NASAMS air defense systems to Ukraine
After the massive shelling of Ukrainian cities, the United States is speeding up the delivery of modern NASAMS air defense systems to Ukraine. The official representative of the National Security Council of the White House, John Kirby, announced this.
Details
Earlier America approved the allocation of eight advanced air defense systems (NASAMS) to Ukraine. Two of them are to be delivered soon, the other six over a longer period of time.
"We think that we're on track to get those first two over there in the very near future. We are certainly interested in expediting the delivery of NASAMS to Ukraine as soon as we can"," Kirby emphasized.
NASAMS is a mobile Norwegian anti-aircraft missile system designed to combat maneuvering aerial targets at low and medium altitudes, a short-to-medium range air defense system.
