Spain sends Leopard 2 tanks to Ukraine - Reuters

Spain has sent six promised Leopard 2 tanks to Ukraine. This was reported by Reuters, citing a naval monitoring website and eyewitness accounts. They saw the tanks leave Spain on a ship on Friday.

The ship left for Poland, from where the tanks will be transferred to Ukraine. But exactly when this will happen is not yet known.

Earlier this month, the Spanish Defence Ministry said that it would hand over 10 Leopard 2A4 tanks to Ukraine. That is, 6 of them have already gone to Ukraine, the other 4 are still at the stage of repair and preparation.

In addition, Spain has trained 40 Ukrainian tankers and 15 mechanics for Leopard 2.
