116 kamikaze drones, 48 cruise missiles and ballistic missiles destroyed - Ukrainian Air Force repels massive attacks for three days in a row
On the night of May 30, Russia struck again against Ukraine. This time there were no missiles - Iranian-made kamikaze drones were used.
Here's What We Know
As usual, the drones were launched from the north and south. Overnight the Ukrainian Air Force destroyed 29 of the 31 kamikaze drones Shahed-131 and Shahed-136. The bulk of the drones were aimed at the Kyiv region.
Over the past three days, Ukraine's air defence has destroyed 116 kamikaze drones. The record was set on 28 May. It was first reported that 52 of the 54 drones were destroyed. After the data was clarified, the General Staff stated that 58 of 59 drones had been shot down.
The Defence Forces also destroyed 48 cruise and ballistic missiles during 29 May. These included Kh-101, Kh-555, Iskander-K and Iskander-M. The MIM-104 Patriot air defence system was probably used to intercept ballistic targets over Kyiv.
