Norway buys 54 modern Leopard 2A7 tanks from Krauss-Maffei Wegmann
Norway has signed a contract with Germany's Krauss-Maffei Wegmann to buy advanced Leopard 2A7 tanks.

The contract provides for the production of 54 tanks with a further option to order 18 more. The country's defence ministry has not yet disclosed the price of the contract. As for the first deliveries, they will start in 2026.

According to the Swedish prime minister, it was Russia's war against Ukraine that influenced the decision to buy additional weapons. Incidentally, Sweden does not rule out the possibility of transferring older Leopard 2 models to Ukraine.
