I'll shoot them all down - Biden has admitted that the UFOs shot down over US and Canadian territory were not spies, but will not apologise for destroying them
US fighter jets in early February shot down four aerial objects, three of which were not identified. US President Joe Biden conceded that the trio were not engaged in espionage, but no one will apologise for the objects being destroyed.
Here's What We Know
On 4 February, an F-22 Raptor fighter jet shot down a huge balloon at an altitude of about 20km. The Pentagon claimed that the balloon belonged to China and was used to monitor strategic targets. China claimed it was a scientific balloon that happened to be over US territory due to strong winds.
It seems to have been dealt with, but last weekend F-22 Raptor and F-16 Fight Falcon fighters shot down three unidentified flying objects: over Lake Guron, Alaska and Canada. AIM-9X Sidewinder air-to-air missiles were used in all three cases.
Analysis of the UFOs showed that they appear to have no connection to China. The US has not yet determined what the objects were, but according to Biden, they are not reconnaissance vehicles and are not part of the balloon programme that China is developing. The US president added that he would not hesitate to shoot down anything that posed a threat to national security.
One of the hypotheses of the US intelligence is that the downed objects could be balloons of private companies or scientific structures. It is possible that they were studying weather phenomena. The decision to destroy the aerial objects was correct, as they were flying at low altitudes where they posed a threat to civil aviation.
