Philippines wants more Turkish ATAK attack helicopters that can carry AGM-114 Hellfire and AIM-9 Sidewinder missiles
The Philippines ordered T129 ATAK attack helicopters from Turkish Aerospace Industries (TAI) in 2018. The island nation plans to place an additional order five years later.

The 2018 agreement calls for the delivery of six attack helicopters in three batches of two each. Two T129 ATAK helicopters arrived in the Philippines last March, and TAI sent a couple more aircraft by late autumn.
The two remaining helicopters are expected to be delivered in 2024. The deal amounted to $280 million. How many T292 ATAKs the Philippines plans to receive as part of an additional order is not specified at this time.
The T129 ATAK is an attack helicopter equipped with three 20mm cannons in the nose. It can carry unguided Roketsan CİRİT, AIM-92 Stinger, Mistral, AIM-9 Sidewinder, AGM-114 Hellfire, BGM-71 TOW, Hydra 70, Spike-ER, UMTAS and OMTAS.
The helicopter has a maximum take-off weight of 5 tonnes. The T129 ATAK is powered by a twin LHTEC CTS800-4A 1,014 kW engine. The maximum speed of the helicopter is 278 km/h, cruising speed is 269 km/h, range is 561 km and range is 1000 km. The T129 ATAK can climb at a speed of 14m/s and reaches a service ceiling of 6.1km.
