The US Air Force will send upgraded F-15EX Eagle II fighters to air bases in Louisiana and California

The US Air Force has officially confirmed that upgraded F-15EX Eagle II fighters will be deployed at bases in Louisiana and California. Previously, the service had only talked about a base in Oregon.

Here's What We Know

In order to start sending planes to bases, the US Air Force has to get them first. So far, the service only has two fighter jets, although it plans to buy 104, including 24 aircraft in fiscal year 2024.

Be that as it may, the US Air Force will deploy F-15EXs at Naval Air Station Joint Reserve Base New Orleans in Louisiana and Fresno in California. At each air base will be deployed a squadron of 18 fighters.

Now there are old F-15C/D Eagle planes. The USAF is planning to decommission them along with fighters, which are located at the Kadena base in Japan.

Earlier we wrote that the US Air Force has found a replacement for the F-15C/D Eagle, which is stationed at Barnes, Massachusetts. They will be replaced by fifth-generation F-35A Lightning II fighters.
