Russian S-300 and Tor-M1 "anti-aircraft missile systems" are unexpectedly on a railway in Ohio

Recently, a Russian T-90A tank hit Louisiana. Now the US has Tor-M1 and S-300 anti-aircraft missile systems. But if the tank was real, in this case we are talking about a very high quality mock-up.

Here's What We Know

The surface-to-air missile systems have been spotted on a railway line in Ohio. They were photographed by Joseph Zadeh. He posted the photos on his Instagram account @aboveaverage.joe.

In one photo you can see the Tor-M1 surface-to-air missile system along with the 5P85S launcher, which belongs to the S-300. Another photo shows a radar for tracking and guiding missiles next to another Tor-M1. The radar station is known as 5H63 and 30N6 (NATO codification: Flad Lid). The radar is part of the S-300 surface-to-air missile system.

Both systems were developed in the Soviet Union. The surface-to-air missile systems are now in service with the Russian army and are actively used in the war against Ukraine. Moreover, the S-300 is used not only as an air defence system, but also for strikes against ground targets.

A closer inspection of the vehicles on the railroad cars seen in Ohio shows that 5P85S and 5N63/30N6 are definitely mock-ups. And it should be noted that the quality of workmanship is of a high standard. Several years ago the US Air Force wanted to buy artificial S-300 launchers. At the moment there is no information as to whether the purchase has taken place.

As for the Tor-M1 surface-to-air missile systems, they look like real ones, although they are also mock-ups. It is worth noting that the US Air Force has at least one Tor-M2E, which is used for testing. It is known that over the years, the US has acquired a lot of Soviet and other military equipment for research, training and re-engineering.
