US, UK and Italy to receive upgraded M270A2 MLRSs

The US Department of Defence has ordered Lockheed Martin to upgrade its M270 multiple rocket launchers.

Information about this has appeared on the website of the Department of Defense. The contract in question is for $194,121,470. Thanks to this, the US Army will receive the M270 MLRS in the A2 modification. In addition to the USA, Lockheed Martin will also upgrade systems for the UK and Italy. The contract runs until 2027.

The M270 is an American multiple rocket launcher system. It is designed to destroy enemy targets at distances ranging from 2 km to 300 km, depending on the projectile. The MLRS is mounted on a Bradley fighting vehicle chassis. The M270 carries 12 guided missiles. The vehicle's crew consists of three men.
