The US Air Force simultaneously took to the skies 36 F-16 fighters and 12 A-10 attack aircraft armed with AIM-9, AIM-120, AGM-88, AGM-65 missiles and JDAM bombs

The Pacific Air Forces held an event dubbed the Mammoth Walk. Dozens of military aircraft took to the skies at Osan Air Base in South Korea at the same time.

Here's What We Know

The event took place on May 5, 2023, but photos have only been released now. The pictures show 53 aircraft:

  • 36 F-16 Fighting Falcon fighters;
  • 12 A-10 Thunderbolt II attack aircraft;
  • three C-12 Huron military transport planes;
  • two U-2 Dragon Lady scouts.

Importantly, the aircraft carried combat weapons. These included AIM-9 Sidewinder and AIM-120 AMRAAM air-to-air missiles, AGM-65 Maverick air-to-ground missiles, AGM-88 HARM anti-radar missiles and JDAM smart bombs.

Unfortunately, the Airbase Press Service did not disclose details of the event, but published a large number of photos. You can see them below.
