Lockheed Martin may open a centre in Ukraine to train and maintain US F-16 Fighting Falcon fighters

The Ukrainian Armed Forces will sooner or later receive the fourth-generation US F-16 Fighting Falcon fighters. In this regard, Lockheed Martin is considering setting up a centre for training and maintenance of the aircraft in the country.

Here's What We Know

So far, there is no clear understanding of which countries will become F-16 donors and how many fighters will be transferred to Ukraine. At least, there are no official statements about this.

Nevertheless Lockheed Martin is looking into the future and in the long term is ready to consider setting up a centre in Ukraine. But this will happen only after the end of the war.

Such a statement was made by Frank St John, chief operating officer of Lockheed Martin. He also said that the American company would support the training of Ukrainian pilots to fly the F-16 Fighting Falcon.
