General Electric has signed a contract with India's Hindustan Aeronautics to produce propulsion systems for fighter jets. It is about the F414 engines.

The new agreement between the US and Indian companies involves launching production of parts for the F414 in India. It is expected that the engines will be used in Tejas fighters, which are in service with the Indian Air Force.
General Electric will transfer some technology to Hindustan Aeronautics. The Indian company wants to equip more than 350 of its military aircraft with the aircraft engines over the next 20 years.
