Rheinmetall will build a plant in Germany to produce central fuselage parts for the fifth-generation F-35 Lightning II fighter jets
A German company will produce fuselage components for the fifth-generation F-35 Lightning II fighter jets. This was announced by Rheinmetall.

The German group will build a plant in Wetze, North Rhine-Westphalia. Its area will be approximately 60,000 square metres. More than 400 highly skilled workers will be involved in the plant.
Rheinmetall Aviation Services GmbH will be responsible for managing the new site. Production is expected to start in 2025.
Rheinmetall plans to produce a minimum of 400 central fuselage sections for the F-35A fifth-generation fighter jet. They will be used in aircraft destined for both Germany and other countries.
To conclude, add that Germany ordered F-35A Lightning II conventional take-off and landing fighters last year. The contract for 35 aircraft, F135 engines, parts, equipment and training cost €8.3bn ($9bn).
