It's official: Microsoft will close the digital shop on Xbox 360 in a year's time

Microsoft has announced a logical, but not the most pleasant news for fans of old games: the digital shop on Xbox 360 will be closed on July 29, 2024.

Here's What We Know

Until the appointed date, players can purchase and install games for consoles of the generation before last and additions to them.

After 29 July 2024, this option will no longer be available.

Most games will remain available on Xbox One and Xbox Series via backwards compatibility, but analysts estimate that around 220 games will effectively cease to exist on Xbox 360 after the shop closes.
