Unique Intel graphics card, available in a single copy, sold for €4,650
An Intel video card, which is only available in one working sample, was bought at an auction for more than €4,000.
The buyer was an unknown French collector. He laid out € 4,650 for the accelerator. The video card itself is called Intel Larrabee. We are talking about the last surviving working sample of the graphics adapter. Its performance is confirmed by the BIOS, but there is no driver for the card. There is also no information about how Larrabee got into the hands of the seller.
The video card is an experiment of the "blue" company, which was carried out in the middle of the "zero". Intel began work on hybrid accelerators for computing, and it moved separately from the project that formed the basis of Intel HD Graphics.
In theory, the Larrabee video card made it possible to run its own OS. But the weakness of graphics compared to competitors was the main reason for the closure of the project in 2009.
