Minecraft adds tribute to Technoblade after streamer's death
Minectaft has received an update with a tribute to popular streamer Technoblade, whose family announced his death from cancer last week. In the initial image for Minecraft the game's launcher now displays a pig wearing a golden crown, the character's symbol Minecraft with Technoblade, a royal pig-man wearing a bejeweled crown.
On Friday, the team Minecraft tweeted that the team was "heartbroken by the loss of Technoblade," writing that he "brought so much joy" to the game's community.
We have been trying to find the words, but all of us here at Minecraft are heartbroken over the loss of Technoblade. He meant so much to our community and brought so much joy. He will be missed dearly. ???????????????

Technoblade was extremely popular streamer Minecraft with over 13 million YouTube subscribers and was part of the hit server Dream SMP. In the video on YouTube, posted last Thursday, the Technoblade father read a message from the streamer and discussed the work that went into making this latest video as he battled cancer. As of this writing, it has over 54 million views.
Other Minecraft streamers and members honor Technoblade. Since then, countless fanarts have also been posted on Twitter commemorating it.
Team Minecraft didn't directly acknowledge the splash screen update, but she clearly pushed this small change into the tribute. The original version of the launcher image still features the pig in the same position, but is missing the Technoblade's signature crown.
