Sony buys eSports platform Repeat.gg
Repeat.gg is a platform for eSports tournaments with a leaderboard. Now she is belongs to Sony Interactive Entertainment.
So far, no significant changes should be expected. However, more games and new features will appear on the platform in the future.
In addition, Repeat.gg will still be available to owners of all devices - PCs, consoles (not only PlayStation) and mobile devices.
The amount of the deal was not disclosed.
The acquisition of Repeat.gg is Sony's next step in the development of its e-sports direction. The company regularly holds competitions on behalf of PlayStation, and in March 2021 became a co-owner of the EVO (Evolution Championship Series) fighting tournament.
Repeat is excited to announce that we are now a part of the Sony Interactive Entertainment family, the home of @PlayStation and many amazing game studios.
