Jaguar Land Rover has opened a laboratory where they test cars for electromagnetic compatibility
Jaguar Land Rover has announced the opening of a brand lab in the U.K. to test the next generation of vehicles for electrical and radio interference.
What we know
The opening of the new lab is the company's next step toward an electrified future. As a reminder, by 2030, the entire Jaguar and Land Rover lineup will be available in all-electric versions.
The new lab has two acoustic anechoic chambers: an electrically "silent" roller test bench for testing cars at speed, as well as equipment to evaluate the performance of individual components. For example, the battery or electric motor. The lab can also test Bluetooth, GPS, Wi-Fi, 4G, 5G, adaptive cruise control, wireless charging and blind spot monitoring.
The first vehicle to be tested in the lab was the Range Rover Sport. The car was shown in May of this year.
