Russia will introduce unmanned BMP-3 with AI, Sinitsa robotic combat module and drone
Rostec will present an unmanned infantry fighting vehicle BMP-3 at the Army-2022 forum this month.
What we know
First information about the prototype appeared in 2021. The combat vehicle is based on a tracked chassis and is equipped with V-shaped engine UTD-19, which has 500 hp. The manufacturer stated that the unmanned version of the BMP-3 can pass through 2.5 m wide ditches.
Earlier Rostec company promised that the maximum speed of the armored vehicle will be 70 km/h, and its fuel tank capacity of 700 liters will provide a range of 600 km without refueling. Whether these technical characteristics will be somehow different is still unknown.
The complex will include a robotic combat module "Sinitsa" with integrated panoramic sight. The unit contains the main and auxiliary weapons of 100 mm and 30 mm caliber respectively, as well as a 7.62 mm machine gun.
BMP-3 will receive cameras with all-round view, with which operators will be able to remotely control the combat vehicle. Russian developers claim that the device will be able to operate in a fully autonomous mode of use. The complex will independently create a 3D-map, collecting information from additional sensors, and the AI will be responsible for constructing the route. Another feature of the combat vehicle will be a mini-drone for reconnaissance and mine clearance.
