Xbox Game Pass is already making money and the number of subscribers is growing steadily - Microsoft
Microsoft CEO Phill Spencer said that Xbox Game Pass subscription is already profitable. He announced this at The Wall Street Journal Tech Live conference, where he also shared that now Game Pass revenues account for 15% of the corporation's total revenue.
Here's What We Know
Spencer expects that Xbox and related services will continue to bring somewhere around 12-15% of Microsof's total revenue and it is "profitable for us".
"Game Pass as a total part of our content and services revenue is probably 15%. I don't think this figure will increase in the future. I suppose it could grow another 15% from the current best case scenario, but it's unlikely that it will ever be 50 or 70%," says Spencer, "We've seen a significant increase in subscribers on PC, as opposed to console users. Although, anyone who wanted to subscribe to Game Pass on Xbox has long since done so."
