Lithuania purchased a $250,000 kamikaze drone for Ukraine and named it "PEACE Detz”
Lithuanian residents have chosen a name for the kamikaze drone, for which they were able to raise $250,000.
Here's What We Know
On November 11, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced the launch of a fundraiser for strike drones. On the same day, Lithuanian journalist Andrius Tapinas wrote on Twitter that Lithuanian residents had raised $250,000 for a kamikaze drone.
On the morning of November 17, Andrius Tapinas reported that the drone had a new name. 12,000 people voted within hours for the drone to be called "PEACE Detz." In addition, a fundraiser to buy a second drone was started in Lithuania.
According to President Zelenskyy, Ukraine wants a fleet of 100 maritime drones. At the same time, the Unite24 platform has raised more than $3 million in just one day, which is enough to produce the first 12 drones.
