Latvia received the first batch of American Sikorsky UH-60M Black Hawk helicopters
The first batch of American UH-60M Black Hawk helicopters was delivered to Latvia.

Latvian Defense Minister Artis Pabriks shared the information. It is about two helicopters UH-60M Black Hawk. They were delivered to Latvia by military cargo planes C-17. The helicopters will be put into operation by the end of this year. Latvia will receive two more UH-60M Black Hawk in 2023. They will become a replacement for Soviet Mi-2 and Mi-17 helicopters.

The UH-60M Black Hawk is an American tactical multirole helicopter. It is designed to carry personnel and military cargo, and for evacuation of the wounded and transportation of bulky cargo. Production of the UH-60M Black Hawk is the Sikorsky Aircraft Company (owned by Lockheed Martin). The first version of the helicopter was released in 1974. Since then it has received many modifications.
