Media: Spain will transfer up to six Leopard 2A4 tanks to Ukraine in first stage

We recently wrote that Spain was ready to transfer 53 Leopard 2 tanks to the AFU, but in the first stage the equipment will be smaller.

Here's What We Know

According to El País, Spain is preparing to send 4-6 Leopard 2A4 tanks for the time being. The exact number of vehicles will depend on their technical condition. Spain is currently negotiating with the manufacturing company to have the vehicles repaired. The Spanish Armed Forces will also train Ukrainian crews. The training program will take 2.5 months.

The Leopard 2 is a main battle tank developed by the German company Krauss-Maffei Wegmann. The Leopard 2 is the successor to the Leopard 1. The Leopard 2 has many modifications and is used by the armed forces of Austria, Canada, Chile, Denmark, Finland, Germany, Greece, the Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Singapore, Switzerland, Sweden, Spain and Turkey. A total of 3,200 tanks of this model have been produced.
