American company Ample has unveiled a new generation of rapid battery exchange stations for electric cars.

The station has many new features. For example, it can now detect a car nearby and automatically open the door. Battery replacement can be activated via a proprietary app on a smartphone. The entire process takes 5 minutes. In other words, it's faster than refuelling a car with a combustion engine.

By the way, according to Ample, the new station has become modular. Thanks to this, it can be built anywhere in two days, and in case of high demand, it can be extended to several cars. The station is compatible with almost all electric vehicle models. It is not yet known when Ample will start mass installation of new stations.
