Russians in Crimea shoot down their own Mohajer-6 drone, passing it off as a Ukrainian drone
A Mohajer-6 drone has been shot down by a Russian air defence system in Crimea. At the same time, the Russians claim that they managed to destroy the Ukrainian drone.
Here's What We Know
Local authorities immediately wrote that the Ukrainian drone was disarmed by an electronic warfare system. However, from the remnants, it is easy to see that the drone shot down turned out to be an Iranian-made Mohajer-6.

The Russian Federation has used at least three Iranian drones in the war against Ukraine since 2022. The Mohajer-6 is very rare. It is much more common for the Russians to launch kamikaze drones Shahed-131 and Shahed-136.
The Mohajer-6 is a relatively new drone. It was developed in 2017. At the end of September last year, the Ukrainian Navy was able to seize the first such drone. As it turned out recently, it was shot down from a boat.

The drone is powered by Rotax Aircraft Engines and is capable of reaching speeds of up to 200km/h. It has a maximum flight altitude of more than 5km. The captured drone was found to contain an 8.5kg Ghaem aerial bomb.
