Square Enix has announced the release of Star Ocean: The Second Story R - the game will be released on November 2:

The story tells the story of two main characters, Claude and Rena, with different views and allies depending on your choice. Both embark on a journey to save Expel and explore dungeons and cities, fighting enemies in real time. Battles involve dealing damage to enemies and then performing special moves to take further action.

By mixing HD-2D pixelated character sprites with 3D environments, the remake looks great while maintaining a retro atmosphere. In addition to the revised soundtrack from original composer Motoi Sakuraba, there will also be new music for various story episodes and boss battles.
