Insider: French studio Quantic Dream's Star Wars action game Eclipse will not be released until 2026. The main problem is the lack of specialists due to the bad reputation of the studio's head David Cage
It is known that the development of the Star Wars Eclipse action game from the French studio Quantic Dream is not going the way David Cage's team planned.
Many sources have reported about the problems within the team, and the new information from the insider Tom Henderson only confirms this.
Here's What We Know
According to Insider Gaming's sources, Quantic Dream is currently experiencing a severe staffing shortage. Professionals do not want to work under the leadership of David Cage, being aware of the unhealthy atmosphere in his team, bullying, harassment, and even sexual harassment.
Acute staff shortages, ambitious game plans and a lack of in-house experience in developing open-world action games (all Quantic Dream games have been in the "interactive film" genre) have meant that work on Star Wars Eclipse is still at an early stage, with a release not due until 2026, according to Henderson.
For all of the studio's problems, Tom Henderson believes that Eclipse could be the biggest and most ambitious Star Wars game that other studios are currently working on.
