Samsung may be developing a smart ring and smart glasses
Samsung is probably working on new wearable devices, which could include smart glasses and a smart ring. At least that's what the registration of three new trademarks hints at.
Here's What We Know
The company has registered 3 new trademarks with the UK Intellectual Property Office (UKIPO): 'Samsung Circle', 'Samsung Index' and 'Samsung Insight'. They all share the same classification, Nice Classification 9, which covers, among other things, wearable devices, smart rings, smart watches, as well as smartphones.
Unfortunately, the information is too vague to know exactly what they're talking about. But this isn't the first time the Samsung brand has been associated with trademarks that could belong to smart wearable devices. The company has previously trademarked Galaxy Glasses and Galaxy Ring, clearly hinting at the development of smart glasses and a smart ring.
On the other hand, manufacturers can simply register trademarks so that competitors can't use them.
