In April this year, Denmark handed over CAESAR howitzers to Ukraine. Now the country's defence ministry has shared details of the training programme.
Here's What We Know
So, the training went on for three weeks. During this time Denmark managed to train 100 Ukrainian artillerymen, including mechanics and drivers. After that, the SAUs were sent to Poland, and then to Ukraine. A total of 19 howitzers were transferred to the AFU. They are now in service with the Airborne Assault Troops.
Flashback
The Danish version of the CAESAR SAU is based on the Tatra 815-7 chassis with 8x8 wheel configuration. The system differs from the French version with increased weight, improved armor and ammunition (36 shells instead of 18).
