Australia to send E-7A Wedgetail spy plane to Germany, it will monitor arms supplies to Ukraine

Australia is about to send its E-7A Wedgetail reconnaissance aircraft to Europe.

The announcement was made by Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese at a press conference in Berlin. The aircraft will be flown to Germany in October this year. It will be in Europe for about six months. Albanese said the E-7A Wedgetail will monitor the security of arms and humanitarian aid deliveries to Ukraine.

The E-7A Wedgetail is an Australian reconnaissance aircraft. It is based on the Boeing 737-700. It was created in 1999 by order of the Royal Australian Air Force. The E-7A Wedgetail made its first flight in 2004. Australia has a total of 6 such aircraft in service. The approximate cost of one unit is $400,000,000.
