Xiaomi sold 300,000 Redmi 12 smartphones in a few hours and generated $36 million in revenue
On the first day of August, Xiaomi announced the global version of Redmi 12 5G along with Remi 12 4G for the Indian market. Expectedly, both the models proved to be very popular.

The Redmi 12 4G and 5G went on sale in India last week. Xiaomi India claims that it was able to sell 300,000 units on the first day of sales. The company's revenue was approximately $36 million.

The smartphones are not much different from each other. Both have a 50MP camera, a 5000 mA*h battery and an IPS LCD display with a frame rate of 90Hz. The overall specs also include an 8 MP selfie module, side-mounted fingerprint scanner and Android 13 with MIUI 14.
The Redmi 12 5G gets a Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 chip and is priced from $145. The version without 5G cellular support has a Helio G88 processor and an 8MP ultra wide-angle camera and is priced at a minimum of $120.
