CES 2018: Nokia Sleep gadget will tell you everything about the user's dream
Nokia brought to CES 2018 in Las Vegas a new sleep tracker with an uncomplicated name Sleep. The device will go on sale earlier this year for $ 100.
How it works?
Nokia Sleep is a sleep sensor that is placed under the mattress of a bed and is powered from the mains. The gadget can keep track of the duration and quality of sleep, and also recognizes snoring. Through Wi-Fi, it syncs with the Health Mate application, statistics can be viewed on a smartphone. Based on the collected data, the system can offer an individual eight-week program for improving sleep, developed by the famous somnologist Christopher Winter.
The novelty has been integrated with the IFTTT service, which allows you to manage "smart" home appliances. Nokia Sleep can automatically turn on / off the light and adjust the temperature on the thermostat when the user goes to bed or gets up in the morning. It is the successor of the system Withings Aura (its manufacturer moved under the wing of Nokia in 2016). The original model included an alarm-night light, but the price was also $ 300.
What do other manufacturers have?
Nokia Sleep costs cheaper than its main competitors in the face of Beddit 3 Sleep Monitor and Sleepace Reston Z400T, which cost about $ 150. On sale also there are more affordable dream trackers in the form of compact modules - they just put under the pillow or fastened on the pillowcase. Partner Xiaomi, for example, recently introduced in China Lunar Smart Sleep Sensor for $ 10. With a rare exception, fitness bracelets can also track sleep.
