Xiaomi will release HyperOS global operating system in early 2024
Xiaomi on Thursday announced the HyperOS operating system. At first it will be available only in China, and the global version will appear in a few months.
Here's What We Know
Xiaomi is positioning HyperOS as a new operating system, but it's just a shell on top of Android. Top-end smartphones will get HyperOS on Android 14, while cheaper smartphones will settle for Android 13. Xiaomi has successfully practised such a separation with MIUI.

Xiaomi 14, Xiaomi 14 Pro and Xiaomi Watch S3 will get HyperOS right out of the box. All three devices were also officially unveiled in China on 26 October. The update for the Xiaomi Pad 6 Max tablet, Xiaomi TV S Pro, Xiaomi Sound smart speaker and Xiaomi Smart Camera 3 Pro PTZ will be released in December.
The global version of HyperOS will be available in the first quarter of 2024. This was announced by Xiaomi CEO Lei Jun. It is likely that the international version of the software will remain without some of the new features, as it was with MIUI Global. For example, without Hypermind for controlling smart home devices.
