Elon Musk's company will open the code of the Grok chatbot
Today, Elon Musk announced that this week his company xAI will open source its chatbot Grok.
Here's What We Know
The innovation is intended for Premium+ subscribers on X. Musk expressed hope that the access to the source code will contribute to the development and improvement of Grok by attracting third-party developers and researchers. He hopes for constructive feedback from the community to help optimise the chatbot's functionality.
This is not the first time Elon Musk has decided to open up access to his technology. Earlier, he released the open source code of his patents for Tesla electric vehicles, which contributed to the proliferation of electric vehicle charging connectors in the industry.

However, Musk's latest actions also have a judicial aspect: he has filed a lawsuit against OpenAI, the company he helped found, accusing it of abandoning its original non-profit mission and favouring profitability. The lawsuit alleged that OpenAI, as a de facto closed-source subsidiary of Microsoft, had changed its goals. OpenAI responded to the lawsuit and indicated that Musk intends to merge the company with Tesla and become its CEO.
