Apple has revealed for the first time how long it will support the iPhone 15 and it's less than the support of Samsung and Google
Apple is known for long periods of software support for its iPhones, but the company has never officially promised a specific number of years. A document has appeared online in which Apple has specified the length of support for current iPhone 15 models, specifically the iPhone 15 Pro Max. And this is a minimum of 5 years.
Here's What We Know
Unlike Android manufacturers, which often officially declare the duration of support for their devices, Apple has not previously made specific promises. However, the company is known for long-term support for its products and has exceeded the five-year mark in the past.
Apple's current announcement does not mean the end of support in five years, but rather indicates a minimum guaranteed period. This gives users some assurance that their devices won't become obsolete too quickly.
The announcement has prompted comparisons with Android competitors, especially since some brands that have promised three-year support in the past are failing to deliver on their promises. So while the 5-year term is shorter than some other manufacturers such as Google and Samsung with their 7-year support, Apple's support history suggests that the company may still surpass its minimum commitment in the future.
